Privacy policy

How we use the details you send us through this website. Last updated 7 October 2026.

Who we are

Power Lock & Security Ltd is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us at Liam@powerlocksecurity.co.uk or on 0131 358 9585.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry, we receive your first and last name, email address, phone number if you give it, the location of the job, the service you choose, your message and any photos you attach.

When you phone or email us, we receive what you tell us and your phone number or email address.

Why we use it

We use your details to reply to your enquiry, to give you a quote, and to arrange and carry out any work you ask for. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.

We do not sell your details or use them for marketing.

Who else handles it

  • Cloudflare hosts this website, runs the anti-spam check on the form (Turnstile) and keeps a copy of each enquiry in a secure database, so none is lost if an email fails.
  • MailerSend delivers the enquiry from the website to our email inbox.
  • Our email provider stores the enquiry in our inbox.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

The copy of your enquiry held by the website is deleted automatically after 12 months. Enquiries in our email inbox, and records of any work that follows, are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your request and to meet our legal and tax obligations. Then we delete them.

Cookies and storage

This site does not set analytics or advertising cookies. The anti-spam check on the form may set a cookie that is strictly necessary for it to work.

The map on the contact page comes from Google Maps. Google may set cookies when it loads.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to restrict or object to how we use it. Contact us using the details above.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
